Description
Blaauwklippen Chenin Blanc 2026 is a fresh, fruit-driven Stellenbosch white sourced from vineyards in the Helderberg. The wine combines ripe stone fruit and citrus with a gently textured palate, while natural fermentation and lees contact add character without sacrificing freshness. It is an approachable expression of Chenin Blanc with enough substance to work comfortably at the table.
The nose opens with white peach, ripe pear, and pineapple, lifted by fresh lemon zest and delicate yellow floral notes. On the palate, the fruit is generous and expressive, with a subtle creaminess developed through lees contact. Lively acidity keeps the wine focused, carrying the stone fruit and citrus flavors through a smooth, refreshing finish. It would pair especially well with seared scallops in citrus butter, braai chicken, grilled peaches with burrata and basil, or a shaved fennel and apple salad with toasted almonds.
Made for youthful enjoyment, this is a versatile Chenin Blanc with bright fruit, a rounded texture, and enough freshness to remain engaging over the next few years.

In the cellar
The grapes were sourced from vineyards in the Helderberg area of Stellenbosch, trained on a Vertical Shoot Positioning (VSP) trellis system and managed with drip irrigation. The fruit was hand-harvested and chilled overnight before undergoing whole-bunch pressing.
The juice settled for 24 hours in stainless steel tanks before cold fermentation began using indigenous yeasts. Following fermentation, the wine remained on its lees for one month, with regular stirring to develop a fuller, creamier texture while preserving its natural freshness and fruit character.
