Description
Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards O.T.V. 2022 is a refined Stellenbosch red blend built around concentration, freshness, and fine structure. The wine favors poise over sheer power, with layered fruit, savory detail, and mineral grip creating a composed style that feels both polished and age-worthy.
The nose opens with red fruit, fresh herbs, cigar box, graphite, and a subtle floral perfume. On the palate, the wine is plush yet vibrant, with silky tannins, fine texture, and a firm mineral line supporting the fruit. Savory notes and a musky floral lift add further complexity, while bright freshness keeps the wine balanced through a long, understated finish. It would pair especially well with roast lamb, beef fillet, venison, or mushroom-based dishes.
This is a structured and cellar-worthy red blend with the balance and concentration to develop gracefully over many years.

In the cellar
The growing season was marked by a delayed onset of winter, good cold-unit accumulation, low rainfall, warm days, and cool nights. Budding occurred later than usual and flowering was uniform, while the dry, warm conditions produced compact berries and required some supplementary irrigation. A cooler February supported even ripening and helped preserve freshness. The wine matured for 18 months in French oak barrels.
