Lush and vibrant, this Franschhoek Chardonnay opens with aromas of ripe tropical fruit, citrus blossom, and a whisper of vanilla from oak maturation. The palate is creamy yet precise, layered with fresh citrus and a subtle note of dried orange peel that lingers elegantly. A refreshing line of acidity brings balance and finesse, making this wine equally enjoyable now or worthy of aging through 2028.
From 15-year-old vines grown with minimal irrigation and open canopy for full sun, we hand-harvested small, intensely flavored bunches. Whole-bunch pressed at gentle pressure, the juice settled for two days before wild yeast fermentation in barrel. Aged eight months on the lees in 30% new and seasoned French oak, this Chardonnay shows depth, texture, and a true sense of site.
