Description
La Motte The Pierneef Collection Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is a cool-climate white sourced from some of South Africa’s southernmost vineyards. The style is bright and focused, with citrus, tropical fruit, and fresh green notes carried by crisp acidity and a mineral edge that gives the wine both precision and length.
The nose opens with zesty citrus, passion fruit, gooseberry, and green pepper. On the palate, the wine is clean and refined, with lively acidity supporting the fruit and a fine mineral line extending through the finish. Two months on the lees adds subtle texture without softening the wine’s freshness. It would pair especially well with fresh seafood, spicy Asian dishes, crisp salads, or semi-dried tomatoes, while also working well as an aperitif.
This is a polished, cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc with the freshness and structure to drink beautifully now and over the next few years.

In the cellar
The grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness between 21 and 23° Balling and given 16 hours of skin contact to build aromatic intensity and flavor. Fermentation took place at 15°C to preserve freshness and fruit expression, followed by two months on the fine lees to add texture and integration before blending. Production was limited to approximately 4,000 six-bottle cases.
