Description
Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage Rosé 2025 is a dry, medium-bodied Stellenbosch rosé that shows the variety in a bright, easygoing, and highly drinkable style. Pinotage rosé can bring both generous fruit and freshness, and that balance is what makes this wine so appealing. It offers plenty of upfront charm, but with enough structure and clarity to feel polished rather than simple.
In the glass, it shows a delicate pale pink color. The nose opens with sweet melon, candyfloss, and summer berries, while the palate brings red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and more melon fruit into sharper focus. Bright acidity keeps the fruit lively and fresh, and a gentle creaminess gives the wine a little more texture through the middle without taking away from its crisp, dry finish. It would pair especially well with summer salads, grilled prawns, charcuterie, sushi, or light picnic fare, though it is just as comfortable on its own well chilled.
Made for immediate enjoyment, this is a versatile rosé with freshness, fruit, and enough texture to suit almost any casual occasion.

In the cellar
The season was marked by a cold, wet winter and cool growing conditions, but the early-ripening Pinotage avoided the late harvest rains. The grapes were crushed and pressed immediately to limit color extraction and preserve the wine’s pale hue and delicate style. Fermentation took place cold at 13°C until dry, after which the wine remained on the lees for 3 months prior to bottling, adding a touch of texture to its fresh fruit profile.
